I have been busy these past few days working hard for my local ward.
I was happy to attend the recent Argyll and Bute Council planning meeting where I raised serous concerns about certain planned wind farm developments in Kintyre. I had the opportunity to speak to local residents in Tarbet about the poor condition of some of the local housing stock in both the social and private sector and I was happy to attend the Islay community council meeting via video link from Kilmory.
Back on Islay I have been visting constituents and local businesses and hearing their concerns, particularity about our local roads and pavements. I have visited many council roads that are more secluded and are now in such disrepair that they are indistinguishable from dirt tracks.
I joined fellow Councillors at a meeting with headmaster Stephen Harrison at Islay High School and then I met with ReJig to discuss options regarding recycling on Islay, Jura and Colonsay after the meeting I had the opportunity to vist HWRC at Gartbreck.
I will do my utmost to make sure that the Kintyre and Island's ward is not sidelined and has a strong voice fighting it's corner in Kilmory.
