I've been out and about across Islay the past few days listening to local concerns while leafleting and canvasing and have been receiving a great response. It is unacceptable that while our Island produces hundreds of millions of pounds in tax revenue our roads are crumbling before our eyes.
While roads and broadband have been mention a lot, and with good reason, I have also been shocked to hear that in some of our villages whole streets have suffered without working street lighting for over two years.
Sadly while our infrastructure is collapsing the Scottish government are fixated on one thing and one thing only and that's another referendum. It's time we had a Councillor that is visible and fighting for our ward all year round not just a few weeks before the election.
