Jamie McGrigor, Highlands & Islands MSP, has congratulated the winners of this year’s Crown Estate Scottish Marine Aquaculture Awards. Jamie attended the awards ceremony in Edinburgh last Thursday evening. There were a number of winners from the Highlands & Islands including the Furnace Smolt Unit (Business Development Award) and Seafood Shetland (Community Initiative).Commenting today Jamie said:“ These aquaculture awards are important in terms of showcasing the industry and highlighting the innovation and best practice being undertaken in the sector.“ I was pleased that the efforts of Marine Harvest (Scotland) Ltd and Scottish Sea Farms Ltd to tackle sea-lice issues through the use of wrasse as cleaner fish were recognised in the stewardship award.“ I congratulate all the winning individuals and businesses involved and wish them continued success. I also thank the companies who sponsored these awards.”
