Anger at Visit Scotland closures

Hard working local Councillor for the Kintyre and Islands ward, Alastair Redman, has voiced his anger over the proposed closure of the Tarbert, Campbeltown and Inveraray VisitScotland iCentres.

Quick Fix unsafe

It was great to catch up with my constituents in Bowmore recently while being out and about checking up on road and street lighting conditions. I was also looking into complaints raised by my constituents about the condition of some of the ACHA housing.

More streamlined planning service needed

I have been busy fighting hard for my constituents while attending council meetings and campaigning with fellow Conservative councillors and activists across Argyll over the past few days.

Pothole repairs welcomed

The large potholes at An-Creagan Pl in Port Charlotte have been filled by ACHA.

I had recently raised the need for these repairs with ACHA's team and I'm delighted with their swift response.

A huge thanks to ACHA's hard working team for repairing the damage to this road.

Another ferry collision

I was unhappy to learn from my constituents that there was yet another collision involving a Cal Mac ferry on the Islay Kennacraig route.

While accidents do happen sadly they seem to be happening at a more frequent rate.

Bowmore broadband shockingly slow

I was visiting my constituents again in Bowmore today as I have been received numerous complaints about the shockingly slow broadband speed in the area.

Concerns have been raised over the SNP Government’s failure to deliver a new suicide strategy, despite promising that it would be ready by the end of June.

It means Scotland has been without a suicide strategy for a year-and-a-half, with the previous plan running out in 2016.

Good clean up for Argyll Gardens

I pushed for the council to give the Argyll Gardens a good clean up ahead of the opening of the new Queens Hall and I think you have to agree it looks fantastic today. A wee bit more work on the bandstand and it'll be looking grand for the opening.
