ACHA opens new homes in Bowmore

I was delighted to attend the the new ACHA house opening ceremony on the 4th October in Bowmore. It was great to meet the new tenants, the local ACHA team and ACHA's Chief Executive Alastair MacGregor.

Solution to rugby pitch footpath

Over the past few days I have been answering emails and phone calls from concerned constituents about the recent building work in Bowmore which has seen a footpath being built over one side of Bowmore's rugby pitch.

McNeilly launches new school menu

Cllr Yvonne McNeilly, Policy Lead for Education, visited Lochgilphead Joint Campus today to launch a new school menu. Sitting down to her lunch of a delicious baguette made at the campus she admitted "I have the best job in all of Argyll and Bute as Education Policy Lead"

Footpath through Bowmore's rugby pitch criticised

The biggest issue I have been hearing about from my constituents on Islay are the proposals from McLeod Homes to make a new footpath through Bowmore's rugby pitch, which is also used for some of the youngsters to play football.

I was happy to attend the latest West Kintyre Community Council meeting in Clachan recently, to hold another successful surgery in Tayinloan the following day and to leaflet and speak to local residents on the doorstep in Tayinloan and Musdale.
