On the one hundredth anniversary of Armistice Day, members joined in with local commemorative events across the country.

I was delighted to join in with the tree planting in Bruichladdich on the 3rd November.

It was great to work alongside the Woodland Trust and numerous local volunteers.

Direct flights to Edinburgh welcomed

Loganair will be introducing a new direct air connection between Islay and Edinburgh in 2019.

Much like our ferry service, regular fights from Islay are not a luxury, they are an essential lifeline service.

I have been speaking at length with Argyll and Bute Council's policy lead for education Yvonne McNeilly about the ongoing issue in regards to the Gigha dairy being unable to sell milk to the local Gigha primary school.

Action needed on A83

My fellow Councillors and I unanimously agreed at the recent meeting of full Council, that action on the A83 is needed in response to the impact on residents and businesses of the most recent closure of the road.
