I was back in Bowmore today with my latest leaflet doing some more canvasing.
I heard about the need for more affordable housing on Islay and for long term Islay residents to be given preferential treatment on the allocation of social housing. I also heard from a number of residents about the slow internet speed and constant disconnections. In housing, roads and internet service Islay is being sidelined and this must stop.
I have been getting letters from both Jura and Tarbet from people who have brought up these same issues with many of the people contacting me stating quite clearly that they are not traditional Conservative voters but they will be voting for me on the 4th of May. There was even a number of people that I met in Bowmore today who voted yes in the Independence referendum and voted SNP in 2015 yet will now no longer be backing them!
The Scottish government has neglected all of their responsibilities of governing because of it's obsession with separatism. It's time our first minister came back from her tax payer funded jaunt to California and sorted out her dysfunctional government.
