I've been really busy the past week fighting hard for my constituents while attending numerous council meetings. As ever I have been making my views heard on the desperate need for infrastructure spending across Kintyre and the Islands along with the rest of Argyll and Bute.
All of the numerous requests for road, drain, pavement and street lighting repairs I have been receiving from across my council ward have been issued directly to Jim Smith the head of roads and amenity services. While speaking to Mr Smith I pointed out the long wait we have all been having to put up with before any even rudimentary road repairs are completed.
Despite the heavy snow and icy roads I have also been burning through the shoe leather visiting my constituents in Tarbert and across Kintyre while putting out my latest leaflet. I am very happy to make good on the promise that I made before I was elected and that was to be visible and accessible all year round not just before elections.
I have heard from so many members of the public in the past few days that are planning on voting for my party when the next opportunity arises for the first time ever. It's a truly great time to be a proud member of the Conservative and Unionist party.
