Routemap little more than holding statement

Tuesday, 23 February, 2021
Donald Cameron MSP

MSP's have criticised the Scottish Government for the lack of detail in the routemap statement by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Shadow Health Secretary Donald Cameron said:

“Frankly, the briefing proved to be little more than a holding statement telling us to come back in three weeks for more information.

“There was nothing provided on when NHS services would get back up to speed, when weddings would resume, or when social distancing would end.

“While I fully acknowledge that complete certainty is not possible, I really do think people would have benefited from a greater sense of direction and momentum.

“The UK has now delivered more than 18m vaccinations, more than that of France, Germany, Italy and Spain combined, but you wouldn’t have known that from today’s statement from Nicola Sturgeon.”
