I had great day canvasing and leafleting in Port-Ellen. I spoke to many residents and local businesses.
Once again concerns were raised to me about our poor roads, the SNP's tax increases, slow broadband speed, lack of adequate refuse collections, unfair mobile phone roaming charges and substandard mobile reception.
Islay is very much a tax revenue breadbasket for Scotland and the rest of our United Kingdom. Despite contributing hundreds of millions of pounds to the exchequer we receive comparatively little public spending in return. This has to change.
