I have been out and about on the mainland side of my council ward yet again.
I have been attending numerous council meetings and speaking to council officials about important local issues such as roads repairs; Port Charlotte's need for a speedy resolution to the pointless street lighting debate and the need to encourage and expand Argyll and Bute's entrepreneurial spirit as jobs for our younger population are a must.
So many of my constituents rightfully have complained to myself about damage to their cars that they have received due to driving on our terrible trunk roads. Well I have now experienced this problem first hand as my car has been damaged due to the terrible condition of local trunk road service.
I was one of four cars that had been left with numerous flat tires, damaged wheels and suspension on just that one night alone. I have once again directed some strong words to BEAR Scotland about this continued problem and they continue to inform me that they are pulling out all stops to get our road network up to scratch.
We will see what comes of the next few weeks of road repairs but now is not the time for BEAR Scotland to idle.
As your Councillor I will be sure to keep BEAR Scotland's feet to fire on this matter.
Cllr Alastair Redman
