I made another visit to Keills today to do some more leafleting and canvasing and got another good response on the doorstep.
Keills like many small villages across Kintrye and the Islands has sadly been overlooked and seemingly forgotten about. It has been a long time since any new affordable housing was built in Keills. While it's essential that the larger villages like Bowmore , Port Ellen and Tarbert get the housing they desperately need, it's also important for this ward that our local housing associations do not forget about our smaller villages when planning building developments.
Lack of road repairs across Islay and the importance of keeping our small Schools open were also quite rightfully brought up on the doorstep. The challenges we are facing in rural Argyll need to be met head on by a strong local voice.
