Colonsay

Colonsay residents will have access to new housing and places to start new businesses after securing £335,000 in funding this week.

Alastair Redman, councillor for the Kintyre and Islands ward, which includes Colonsay, says he is absolutely delighted at the news.

Councillor Redman said, “Colonsay, like all of our islands, is full of opportunities which can be realised through investment in its potential. This funding boost of £335,000 will help to deliver much-needed homes for the island, in addition to new business units which will offer local residents the chance to start up their own ventures.

“This is a winning combination for Colonsay’s economy and I’m looking forward to seeing work start in Scalasaig as soon as possible.”
