Chairman's New Year Message

A new year, with fresh challenges and fresh opportunities!

Politically, 2016 was a year of substantial change, much of it unexpected, and here in Scotland in May 2017 we are faced with local government elections. Elections are always challenging and make heavy demands on our Party members and activists. Here in Argyll and Bute we have a realistic opportunity to increase the number of councillors.

We are fielding candidates in every Ward, and I am quietly confident we can at least double the number of Conservatives on the Council. Our candidates will ‘pull out all the stops’ in their campaigning, they are well attuned to local issues and, if elected, will bring a new dynamism to the council’s work.

If we are to achieve our goals we need to harness the support of as many supporters as possible. If you are able to help in any way, be it financially, with leafleting, or in the many other tasks which form the organisation of our campaign, we will be delighted to hear from you. Whether that help is modest or substantial be assured it will be much appreciated.

Together, let’s make the elections an outstanding success for our Party both nationally and locally.

Happy New Year!
