I was in Bowmore again doing some canvassing and leafleting. Despite it poring down with rain I had a great time.
People in Bowmore, much like the rest of Islay, are tired of the raw deal our Island gets when it comes to lack of public spending and recognition for our massive tax contributions to the exchequer.
The public are not happy about our dilapidated roads, the SNP's tax increases, an unreliable ferry service, poor broadband speed, reductions in the number of bin uplifts, needless mobile phone roaming charges and lack of proper mobile reception.
I was happy to have the opportunity to listen to the concerns of local residents and I have taken down all the issues raised both on the doorstep and in the returned surveys. It's time we had a stronger voice for Kintyre and the Islands.
I look forward to coming back with my next in-touch leaflet very soon.
